Student terms for offline classes, live online classes, recorded courses and test series
Version 1.1 | Prepared 29 October 2026
Effective for an order when displayed and accepted at checkout
When you purchase a protected course through Learnees, we undertake to help you continue the paid, undelivered part of that course with an acceptable alternative provider or refund its eligible unused fee. This commitment covers the protected payments defined below. Separate cancellation rules explain when you can change your mind and request a refund even if the provider can deliver the course.
Two different situations apply. Voluntary cancellation means the course is available but you want to withdraw. Fee protection means the provider cannot deliver the paid course. The cancellation windows below do not limit a later fee-protection claim.
| Course Purchase | Cancellation Window | Usage Condition | Refund if Eligible |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offline first month payment | Before teaching, or within 7 days of first scheduled class | After teaching starts: no more than 2 paid sessions; digital limits below apply | 100% of the first month tuition paid through Learnees. Unpaid future fees are not refundable. |
| Offline full course payment | Before teaching, or within 7 days of first scheduled class | After teaching starts: no more than 2 paid sessions; digital limits below apply | 100% of the course tuition paid through Learnees. |
| Live online full payment | Before teaching, or within 7 days of first scheduled live class | After teaching starts: no more than 2 paid sessions, including replay access; digital limits below apply | 100% of the course tuition paid through Learnees. |
| Recorded course | Within 7 days of usable paid access | No more than 10% video watched; no core workbook downloaded; no more than 10% other files downloaded; no certificate earned | 100% of the recorded-course price paid through Learnees. |
| Test series | Within 48 hours of usable paid access | No paid test started; no paid solutions viewed; no paid questions downloaded | 100% of the test-series price paid through Learnees. |
Both the time window and usage limit apply. Live courses of 7 days or less allow pre-start cancellation only, unless a longer offer is displayed. Download restrictions and mandatory legal rights are explained in sections 6 and 7.
If a provider stops delivery later, these cancellation limits do not apply: choose an accepted replacement or an unused protected-fee refund. Approved refunds are initiated within 2 working days; bank credit may take an additional 5 to 10 working days.
“Learnees”, “we” and “us” mean Learnees Solutions Private Limited. “Provider” means the institute, educator or test-series seller identified on your order. “You” means the purchasing student or their parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must accept the order and manage payment and claims for a minor. The provider supplies the teaching or content. Learnees administers this protection and remains responsible for the commitments it expressly makes here
An order placed and paid through Learnees is a protected enrollment when its checkout and confirmation identify the protection, purchased course, payment scope and delivery period. We preserve the accepted version with your order. This policy does not automatically cover an unrelated direct institute admission, an unregistered upgrade or a new course purchased outside Learnees.
Course interruption protection applies during the paid course or access period and is not limited to the initial cancellation window. A seven-day cancellation offer does not mean money must reach your bank within seven days. Section 8 specifies decision, refund initiation and bank processing timelines. Calendar deadlines run continuously in Indian Standard Time; 7 days means 168 hours from the stated start. Working days mean Monday to Friday excluding public holidays at Learnees’ operating office. A support outage extends the submission deadline by its duration.
Mandatory law prevails. A more favorable written promise on your order or applicable provider terms also applies. This policy sets the minimum Learnees protection for a protected enrollment. Unpublished provider terms cannot remove it. Any earlier Learnees statement limiting protection to platform payments is expanded only for orders that expressly include verified direct installments under section 2. Existing orders keep their accepted rights unless we extend them in writing.
Actual tuition paid through Learnees for the protected course is covered automatically, including approved advance payments and installments. An unpaid future installment is not money lost and cannot be refunded. The protected balance reduces as the provider properly delivers the service and as refunds or equivalent remedies are received.
Where your order expressly includes verified direct installments, protection extends to later tuition paid to the same provider for the same course under the payment schedule recorded with Learnees. Your order must identify this extended scope before those payments are made. Payments must go to the provider’s authorized business account or an authorized receipting counter, not an unverified personal account.
Upload the receipt and payment reference through order support within 15 calendar days of payment. An official numbered receipt is needed for cash payments. We acknowledge registration and update the recorded fee balance. Late submission does not automatically invalidate a genuine payment: we accept reasonable explanations, including provider delay or service outages, and verify available evidence. If verification fails, we give reasons and an opportunity to supply alternatives.
The maximum reimbursement is the actual protected tuition paid for the undelivered portion, less amounts already refunded or used for a remedy you accepted. It is not the unpaid course price or the institute’s list price. Any additional monetary cap must appear prominently before purchase and in the order confirmation. We cannot introduce a new cap after payment or restrict a remedy available under law.
Refund calculations use the actual discounted tuition allocation agreed before purchase, not a higher undiscounted rate. Related tax is adjusted as legally applicable. No hidden registration charge, commission or gateway deduction reduces a promised full refund. Separately priced books, equipment, hostel, travel, exam vouchers and third-party services have their own disclosed return terms. Mandatory law and refunds for their own non-delivery remain unaffected.
For a 12-month course priced at INR 45,000, paying INR 3,750 covers the first month. If only that month has been paid and properly completed, a later closure creates no refund for the unpaid INR 41,250. If INR 45,000 has instead been prepaid as protected tuition and 4 equal months are delivered, the remaining protected tuition is INR 30,000, subject to section 5. Verified prepaid later installments can qualify under clause 2.2.
Learnees Fee Protection is a contractual commitment by Learnees. It is not an insurance policy, bank deposit guarantee or guarantee of exam selection. Insurance cover exists only if a separate licensed insurer’s policy and certificate are expressly issued to you.
Protection applies where the provider permanently closes, shuts the relevant branch or batch, becomes insolvent, abandons the course, loses required permission, or otherwise cannot deliver a material paid part of the agreed course. Financial difficulty, staffing problems, relocation and a dispute between Learnees and the provider do not by themselves excuse non-delivery to the student.
A teacher leaving, becoming unavailable or being replaced activates protection if the provider cannot restore suitable teaching within the restoration period below, or if the change materially breaches an express named-faculty commitment. A routine teacher substitution does not automatically create a refund where a suitably qualified replacement continues substantially equivalent teaching on the agreed terms. You may raise documented concerns about equivalence.
Tell us as soon as practical. We contact the provider and seek a written restoration plan within 3 working days. A scheduled live service must resume within 7 calendar days of the first materially missed delivery, unless you agree to a later date. Digital access defects should be restored within 3 working days of reporting. An exam-critical session requires an earlier practical remedy before its usefulness expires. Confirmed permanent closure needs no waiting period.
If the deadline passes without a suitable restoration, or restoration is plainly impossible, we offer the remedies in section 4. A short isolated disruption corrected with suitable make-up teaching or an access extension need not trigger a cash refund, but recurring or material disruption remains reviewable. Extra time requires your consent and does not indefinitely postpone the remedy.
Events beyond reasonable control may interrupt teaching. We first seek a safe and acceptable resumption, transfer or access extension. If the paid service cannot continue within the above period and you do not agree to an alternative, the eligible unused protected fee is refundable. This contractual protection does not require you to bear an indefinite suspension.
Please report within 30 calendar days after learning of the interruption and before paying further advances to an affected provider. This is an administrative request, not a waiver of legal limitation periods. We consider delayed reports fairly and do not insist that students obtain a closure certificate from an unresponsive institute.
After verifying a covered interruption, Learnees will offer a suitable continuation arrangement or calculate the refundable unused protected fee. You may accept a suitable transfer, or choose the unused-fee refund instead. We do not force you into another institute, a wallet credit, a different learning format or a materially different timetable to avoid a refund.
A proposed replacement should cover the same exam or subject, remaining syllabus and broadly comparable teaching level, language, teaching hours, format and support. For classroom courses, it must be within a reasonably accessible location agreed with you. For live online courses, timings and technology requirements must be workable. We disclose the new provider, start date, remaining curriculum, validity and any important differences before seeking consent.
We aim to issue a transfer proposal within 7 working days of confirming the interruption. You normally have 5 calendar days to consider it, with reasonable extensions where needed. No response is not consent. If no suitable offer is available, you decline, or we cannot complete the transfer within the agreed period, the unused-fee refund route applies without requiring you to negotiate with the original provider.
For the replacement accepted under this protection, you are not charged again for the same protected, prepaid undelivered teaching. Learnees arranges the required tuition within that remedy. Unpaid original installments may remain payable only for future teaching under a new schedule you expressly accept. A voluntary upgrade or additional service requires a separately disclosed price and consent.
The written transfer proposal identifies how much of your eligible unused tuition it applies to the replacement. If the replacement covers only part of the remainder or uses less of that value, we state and refund the residual balance. We do not silently retain a difference. Where necessary, receipts and course records transfer with your permission and only to the extent needed for continuation.
Your remaining protected entitlement continues with the accepted replacement until delivery of that entitlement or its refund. If the replacement fails, you may claim for the still-undelivered protected balance. Teaching properly delivered by either provider counts once in the calculation. Acceptance of a transfer does not waive unrelated service complaints or statutory rights.
Learnees is responsible for its approved refund or transfer commitment under this policy even if the original institute has closed, refuses reimbursement or has already received its payout. Recovery from a provider is a separate matter. We do not make an approved student remedy conditional on first recovering money from the provider.
For a course with a fixed teaching package, use the fee allocation and total teaching units recorded at checkout. Teaching units may be scheduled teaching hours or defined sessions. If the course is sold expressly by equal months with no separate unit allocation, use equal months and proportionate calendar days for a partial month. We do not switch methods after purchase merely to reduce a refund.
Earned tuition = actual agreed tuition price × properly delivered units ÷ total purchased units. Refundable unused tuition = maximum of zero and protected tuition paid minus earned tuition minus prior cash refunds minus tuition value already applied to an accepted replacement. The result cannot exceed protected tuition paid. Unpaid future fees are never added to the refund.
For mixed or non-uniform modules, the order must disclose a fair component allocation before purchase. If no allocation exists and a dispute arises, Learnees uses a reasonable documented allocation and explains it for review. We do not retrospectively assign most of the fee to early sessions or allegedly free add-ons.
A class counts when the provider actually supplies it substantially as promised and makes it available to you under the agreed schedule. A class you voluntarily miss can count if properly available. Cancelled classes, unavailable sessions, undelivered promised make-ups and the period after service stops do not count. Your personal absence does not make a functioning class an interruption, but material unagreed changes remain covered.
| Illustration | Calculation | Eligible Unused Tuition |
|---|---|---|
| 12 equal months, INR 45,000 prepaid, 4 months delivered | 45,000 − (45,000 × 4/12) | INR 30,000 |
| 60 equal live sessions, INR 12,000 prepaid, 15 delivered | 12,000 − (12,000 × 15/60) | INR 9,000 |
| INR 18,000 course, 6 equal months; INR 9,000 protected paid, 2 delivered | 9,000 − (18,000 × 2/6) | INR 3,000 |
| Only first month paid and delivered | Protected paid minus earned tuition | INR 0 |
For a fixed-validity recorded course or access pass, permanent loss of access is ordinarily valued by the unexpired promised access period, not just the amount already watched. For separately scheduled lessons or tests that the provider never releases, use their disclosed component price or a reasonable equal-unit allocation. Do not count the same missing value twice. Section 7 explains the relevant product distinctions.
Related tax refunds or adjustments are handled under applicable law and shown in the refund statement. Learnees commission and provider settlement costs do not reduce the student’s eligible unused tuition refund. All examples exclude separately itemized non-tuition services. We issue an itemized calculation showing paid amounts, delivery, prior remedies, taxes and the balance.
Learnees is responsible for its approved refund or transfer commitment under this policy even if the original institute has closed, refuses reimbursement or has already received its payout. Recovery from a provider is a separate matter. We do not make an approved student remedy conditional on first recovering money from the provider.
Before the first scheduled class, cancel for a full tuition refund. A consumed, genuinely separate paid component follows its disclosed terms. No hidden admission or processing fee is retained. If admission is rejected or the provider cancels before delivery, refund the full affected payment.
Offline first month enrollment: cancel within 7 calendar days of the first scheduled class and before attending or accessing a third paid session. If eligible, Learnees refunds 100% of the first month tuition paid through Learnees. There is no refund of unpaid future installments.
Offline full payment: the same 7-day and maximum 2-session conditions apply. If eligible, Learnees refunds 100% of the course tuition paid through Learnees, rather than only one month.
Live online full payment: the same 7-day and maximum 2-session conditions apply from the first scheduled live class. Access to the paid replay of a session counts as access to that session. If eligible, Learnees refunds 100% of the course tuition paid through Learnees.
For all three cases, no core paid workbook may have been downloaded, no more than 10% of paid downloadable files may have been downloaded, and no separately priced paid digital component may have been completed. Free previews do not count. All eligibility conditions must be met. The course checkout must show them clearly.
The seven-day clock starts from the first class actually available to you after enrollment. Provider postponement moves the start. Voluntary non-attendance does not. The order records the deadline, batch and remaining syllabus for mid-batch admissions.
Where a live product lasts 7 days or less, the seven-day review offer does not apply unless expressly advertised for that product. The default change-of-mind option is cancellation before its first paid session. The shorter rule must be shown prominently before payment. Non-delivery, misdescription and other legal remedies remain available regardless of course length or attendance.
A personal change of plan, relocation, dissatisfaction unrelated to a material promise, exam postponement or missed attendance does not automatically create a full refund after this window. We apply any published provider exit benefit and mandatory pro-rata rule applicable to the course. Students may request compassionate withdrawal or a batch change, which we assess fairly and explain in writing. This clause cannot defeat a covered interruption or proven deficiency.
The first month payment counts toward total tuition. It is not an additional admission fee. Later direct institute payments follow their disclosed cancellation terms and mandatory law. If registered under extended protection, they qualify for provider-interruption claims, not an unrestricted change-of-mind refund.
For a one-time recorded course purchase, request a full refund within 7 calendar days after usable paid access becomes available, provided no more than 10% of the purchased video duration has been viewed, no downloadable core paid workbook has been downloaded and no more than 10% of other paid downloadable files have been downloaded, and a completion certificate has not been earned. Preview content is excluded. Progress records must be accurate and open to correction. A technical failure that prevents meaningful use does not consume the refund window while it remains unresolved.
If usable access never begins, the course is substantially missing or materially different from its description, or the provider cannot remedy a material defect, you can seek a full or proportionate refund appropriate to the affected purchase, independently of the seven-day usage limits. Permanent withdrawal before promised access expires activates remaining-period protection. A teacher leaving does not by itself affect a complete recorded course if promised content, validity and support remain available.
For a one-time paid test series, request a full refund within 48 hours after usable access begins, before starting any paid test, viewing paid solutions or downloading paid questions. A free sample does not count. For a scheduled series sold in advance, this period begins when the first paid test becomes available. After paid use or expiry of this window, there is no automatic change-of-mind refund, subject to more favorable disclosed terms and law.
A cancelled series, persistent material technical failure, substantially wrong exam coverage, or failure to supply advertised tests triggers corrective access, a suitable alternative accepted by you, or a full or proportionate refund. For a fixed set of promised test releases, value the missing releases using the pre-purchase allocation or equal test units. For permanent loss of a fixed-period test library, value unexpired access. We choose the method matching the actual loss and explain it, rather than paying twice for the same missing service. A corrected minor error alone does not cancel an otherwise usable entire series.
A bundle must disclose its component prices or allocation and the cancellation rule for each component. Refund an affected component without removing other paid value unless the failure defeats the bundle’s main purpose. For a subscription, cancellation stops future renewal and access ordinarily continues to the paid-through date. The first billing period follows the relevant cancellation rule above. Renewal periods have no fresh change-of-mind window unless offered, but non-delivery, duplicate debit and statutory remedies remain. Renewal requires valid consent and an accessible cancellation route.
Finite validity and device requirements must be disclosed before purchase. Routine expiry of an agreed usable term is not provider closure. “Lifetime” must define the actual duration promised and cannot mean arbitrary early withdrawal. If an app store handles payment, Learnees helps use its refund route without removing Learnees’ own delivery or protection obligations. Payment-source constraints do not justify retaining a refund that is otherwise due.
Open My Courses or My Orders, select the affected purchase, and use Request Refund or Report Course Interruption. If that facility is unavailable, use the support channel shown in Learnees Help or the grievance contact published on the website. A request sent through a published support channel within the window remains timely even if staff enter it later. Do not wait for institute permission to contact us.
Provide your order number, registered contact, affected course or batch, reason, date of interruption and requested remedy. Add available invoices, payment receipts, provider notices or screenshots. We use existing Learnees payment and access records first, request only relevant additional evidence, and allow alternatives when a provider is unresponsive. We never ask for an OTP, card PIN or UPI PIN to issue a refund. Mask unrelated personal or payment information.
We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours, supply a reference and a copy or summary of the complaint, and identify the next action. Routine admission-failure and initial-window claims should receive a decision within 3 working days of sufficient information. Course interruption claims should receive a decision or concrete remedy proposal within 7 working days. These are service commitments. Complex cases receive reasons, progress updates and an expected decision date; the applicable one-month grievance redressal requirement is not replaced by an indefinite investigation.
After you accept a cash refund or we confirm it is due, Learnees initiates it within 2 working days. For an initial review-window refund that does not require a transfer choice, approval triggers initiation automatically. Payment providers commonly need an additional 5 to 10 working days to credit the original method; this is an estimate rather than a guaranteed banking deadline. A shorter mandatory deadline prevails. We provide a traceable refund reference and investigate delays.
Refund to the original payment source wherever possible. If it is closed or cannot receive the refund, verify a lawful alternative account belonging to the payer or authorized guardian. A verified direct institute cash payment may require a verified bank refund. Wallet credit, a voucher or a substitute course can replace money only with your informed consent. Promotional credit without cash value is ordinarily restored as credit rather than converted to cash.
We verify duplicate or successful-debit/failed-order cases and reverse the amount not attached to a delivered purchase without requiring course cancellation. A pending bank reversal is tracked to avoid paying twice. During a verified interruption we pause further Learnees collection for the undelivered period and ask the provider to do the same. External loan or EMI agreements require coordination with the lender; we do not promise automatic cancellation of third-party interest or charges.
Fee protection covers the purchased service and eligible unused tuition. It does not guarantee a rank, score, government job, university admission, preferred teacher indefinitely, or reimbursement of unrelated living costs, travel, lost earnings or emotional distress as an automatic policy payment. This does not restrict compensation or other relief available under mandatory law, an adjudicated claim or another express Learnees promise.
Personal inability to attend a functioning course, an external exam change without a corresponding delivery failure, expiry of properly available access and a disclosed device incompatibility are not themselves interruption events. The provider must still honor advertised exam-linked validity, accessibility commitments and mandatory duties. Account sharing, piracy, fraudulent documents and resale are prohibited. Genuine refund and deficiency claims are not abuse merely because a student complains or leaves an unfavorable review.
We may investigate suspected abuse, explain any relevant suspension, and deny only the unsupported or ineligible part with written reasons and calculations. A criminal finding or court order is not needed to prove an ordinary service interruption. You may ask the Learnees Grievance Officer to reconsider within 15 calendar days of a decision, or later for reasonable cause. This internal appeal window does not shorten a legal limitation period or require exhaustion before using a lawful external remedy.
You cannot recover the same fee twice. Tell us about a provider refund, payment reversal or bank dispute affecting the claim. We coordinate and adjust only overlapping amounts. A chargeback is not an automatic waiver of your rights or reason to refuse the undisputed balance. After paying an eligible provider-default refund, Learnees may seek recovery to the extent paid, with reasonable cooperation that does not impose unnecessary cost on you.
We use claim information to verify payment, arrange an accepted transfer, process refunds, prevent fraud and comply with law, in accordance with the published privacy notice. Share student information with a replacement provider only as needed and with appropriate permission. We communicate decisions through registered contact details and retain the accepted order, service logs and claim history for applicable lawful purposes.
Indian law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections applicable to the student. Nothing limits a right to approach an appropriate Consumer Commission, court, regulator or the National Consumer Helpline where available. No clause imposes exclusive jurisdiction that removes a consumer’s lawful forum choice, or makes a binding arbitration process a condition of receiving an otherwise due refund. Invalid provisions are severed only to the extent necessary.
Changes apply prospectively with a stated effective date. We preserve the version accepted for each purchase and do not retrospectively reduce protection, shorten a paid access period or remove an accrued refund. Closure of an account or removal of a provider does not extinguish an accepted protected enrollment or an outstanding eligible claim.
Each protected order must state the provider’s legal identity, course or exam, format and location, start and end dates or validity, total tuition, amount collected now, remaining installment dates, delivery units and fee allocation. It must identify whether verified direct installments are covered, the protection limit, voluntary cancellation deadline and usage limits, refund contact and accepted policy version. Students must be able to download or retain these details.
You prepay INR 45,000 in protected tuition for 12 equal months. After 4 properly delivered months, the institute closes. Learnees offers a suitable continuation or an INR 30,000 unused tuition refund. You can choose the refund. The provider’s refusal to repay Learnees does not change the approved obligation to you.
A faculty member leaves and a suitably qualified replacement teaches the same syllabus, hours, language and format without a material interruption. There is no automatic closure refund solely because the person changed. If the listing expressly promised that named teacher or the replacement materially fails the agreed service, Learnees reviews restoration, transfer or the unused-fee remedy.
You pay INR 3,750 through Learnees for the first month of an offline course. If admission is rejected before teaching, that INR 3,750 is fully refunded. If the month is delivered and no further fee is paid, a later closure does not create a refund for unpaid months. If you prepaid later installments directly under expressly extended protection and verified the receipts, the undelivered balance of those payments is also covered.
You pay INR 2,400 for 12 equal months of recorded access. Access permanently disappears after 3 months, and restoration fails. The ordinary unexpired-access refund is INR 1,800. A more serious original misdescription or failure may justify a different remedy under law or the order. The initial seven-day cancellation restriction does not bar this later non-delivery claim.
You buy 20 equally priced scheduled tests for INR 1,000. The provider releases 5 valid tests and cancels the remaining 15. The undelivered-test value is INR 750. By contrast, choosing not to attempt available tests is not non-delivery. A permanent loss of a time-based test library is evaluated on the promised remaining access period rather than simply counting unattempted tests.
All examples illustrate tuition-only calculations. Actual refunds account for protected payments, prior remedies, applicable tax adjustments and mandatory rights. They do not create a promise to refund unpaid fees or the entire original price after substantial proper delivery.
This appendix is for Learnees management and implementation. It is separate from the student-facing terms in sections 1 to 10. These controls must support the advertised promise before it goes live.
Management must approve the extended direct-installment coverage, the unconditional responsibility for approved provider-default remedies, and the cancellation limits and deadlines in this document. Maintain an appropriately funded refund reserve and controls proportionate to outstanding undelivered tuition. Do not describe the reserve as regulated escrow or insurance unless that arrangement actually exists. Financial backing is needed even where Learnees has already settled the institute.
Obtain a signed rider requiring accurate course commitments, timely admission confirmation, attendance and payment records, prompt interruption reporting, approved refund cooperation and repayment or offset of provider liabilities. Use lawful staged settlements, reserves or security based on provider risk. Provider recovery terms must not delay the student commitment. Record the provider business account and authorized receipt process for direct installments.
Implement the complaint channel, timestamped order snapshots, direct receipt registration, protected-balance ledger, delivery records, usage records, payout holds, cancellation route, transfer acceptance and itemized refund statements. Publish the Grievance Officer’s actual name, designation, email, telephone and postal contact where legally required. Verify the Help links and support availability. Do not advertise a 24/7 human team unless staffed.
Existing agreed commission rates are 30% plus GST on the first-month offline installment, 10% plus GST for offline full-fee and live online sales, and 15% plus GST for recorded sales. Commission is an institute charge and must not reduce promised student refunds. Test-series commission requires a separate provider agreement. This policy does not silently amend commission rates or resolve the still-unconfirmed offline installment threshold and minimum duration settings.
Review applicable state coaching laws, Ministry of Education model guidance and consumer/e-commerce requirements with Indian counsel before publication. Mandatory exit or pro-rata provisions may be more favorable than the voluntary cancellation terms here. Review the notified 2026 e-commerce amendments before their stated 1 January 2027 commencement. This policy deliberately preserves applicable statutory rights rather than treating a private platform practice as law.
“Learnees Fee Protection: if your protected course cannot continue, choose suitable replacement classes or a refund of the eligible unused protected fee. Covered payments and terms apply.” For initial cancellation: “7-day refund requests for eligible courses. Attendance and usage limits apply.”
Do not use “Fee Insured” without insurer-backed cover or “100% refund within 7 days” where the offer is only a request window.
Research checked on 29 October 2026. External policies informed product distinctions only. Learnees’ windows, thresholds, transfer choices and service commitments above are proposed Learnees commercial terms, not a claim that competitors or Indian law require those exact settings.
